Scatter plot in machine learning

A scatter plot is one of the mist effective graphical methods for determining if there appears to be a relationship, pattern, or trend between two numerical attributes. To construct a scatter plot, each pair of values is treated as p pair of coordinates in an algebraic sense and plotted as points in the plane. Fig. shows a scatter plot for the ser of data in the table. The scatter plot is a useful method for providing a first look at bivariate data of seeing clusters of points and outliers, or to explore the possibility of correlation relationships.

When dealing with several attributes, a scatter-plot matrix is a useful extension to the scatter plot. Given n attributes, a scatter-plot matrix is an n X n grid of scatter plots that provides a visualization of each attribute with every another attribute.
